Don't wait to schedule your move. You should make reservations two to four weeks in advance. 

Order or pick up supplies ahead of your move. Rule of thumb is to always order more than you think you will need. It is amazing how quick boxes fill up. Need Supplies? Click to learn more. 

Also, don't forget, moving supplies incude more than just boxes. You will also need tape and packing paper. 

Donate - Moving is the perfect excuse to get rid of items you no longer want or love. 

Keep It Simple- Pack items from the same room. It will save time when unpacking. 

Label Label Label- Make sure to label multiple sides of the box with room and content information. 

Fragile Items- Make sure to boldly mark the box FRAGILE if there are fragile contents. Then we know to take extra care of the box and will not stack it.

Pack in all Sizes- Be sure to pick out a variety of box sizes. Heavier items should be packed in smaller boxes for ease of transportation. 

Packing Paper- Be sure to use actual packing paper and not newspaper. Newspaper can leave unwanted smudges and residue on your belongings.

Important Items- Keep all your important items with you. Pack medication, cash, jewelry, and important documents in your car. This way you know where they are at all times. 

Want to Save Money?- Boxes always get loaded into the truck first so if you want to save money, we recommend placing boxes by the front door or in the garage. 

Prior to the M.K Movers team arrival, please have all flatscreen TV's packed in TV boxes. Quality TV boxes can be purchased from Homedepot, Amazon, or U-Haul. Click for amazon link. 

• Remove all the heavy and breakable items from dressers. Undergarments and light weight clothing can be left in the dresser. Jeans and sweaters are considered heavy clothing. 
• Take down all pictures and place in one location. 
• Unplug and remove all electronics from the walls. 
• Remove blankets and bedspreads from beds. 

Start to run down your freezer 5 days prior to the move. 

Are we moving your appliances? Before we do, make sure to unhook and drain all hoses and or fuel. M.K Movers cannot uninstall or install water or gas lines on your appliances.  

Detach propane tanks. M.K Movers cannot take any fuel tanks or propane tanks in the moving truck. 

Make sure to schedule carpet cleaners prior to your final walk through. Saves you time and the cleaners will be able to get out any unwanted furniture indents as well as daily traffic patterns. 

Make sure you notify the post office of your new address as well as your utility providers. While your at it, make sure to set up any new services you will need in your new home.
